recently got the idea to add a wall mount kraft paper holder to our dining area of our great room. I love that I can customize the messaging for every occasion from a simple fall message, a halloween story like "5 little pumpkins" or a menu for thanksgiving. It is an outlet for me to practice my modern calligraphy and get creative on a regular basis.
Back when my husband and I walked into our now fixer upper home there were two agreements we made 1. completely new kitchen 2. paint the cedar ceiling (more on that later). As we near the end of our main floor renovation I wanted to share my design inspiration around our kitchen.
I had a lot of fun working with Building Source Inc. on Whidbey Island on the design and cool custom elements we were able to add in. If you are building in the area please check them out, they do a lot more then just cabinets!
We have really lucked out the last few weeks here in the Pacific Northwest with beautiful sunny weather every day. We can officially say summer has arrived and with it the desire to spend as much time outside as possible. With our renovation in full swing our backyard is our sanctuary and our truly only place to have a sit down family meal at the moment.
As I started to jot down my design plans for the house I realized I have not shared the beginning. That moment when our friend / realtor said "hey, I have a house you should look at... it is interesting." At that point in time we weren't ready for a move, but close enough to be swayed off of our four acre home and onto the biggest fixer upper project of our lives.
With our large home remodel project our downstairs living space has given us no choice but to put our two boys Nicholas (6) and Henry (3) into one shared space. While we have experienced ups and downs of a shared room I believe that for a portion of time having siblings share a room is a good thing.
